Galway fiddle player Sinead Hayes comes from a small village in the West of Ireland. Picking up the tin whistle aged 5, she soon graduated to the fiddle – leading to a lifelong obsession with the instrument! As well as regular lessons with Galway musician Cepta Byrne, over the years Sinead has participated in numerous workshops and summer schools, learning from such greats as Tommy Peoples, Junior Crehan, Dermot McLoughlin and others. She has a special interest in the Donegal fiddle tradition and is a prizewinner at numerous fleadhs and competitions in Ireland. Sinead is also a classically trained violinist and conductor, graduating with a first in violin and composition from City University London, and completing her MMus in orchestral conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. Sinead is now based in Berlin where, as well as her work as a conductor, she has become a regular collaborator with bands and performers in the German Irish traditional music scene. In addition to her private teaching practise in Berlin, Sinead is in demand as a workshop leader and adjudicator throughout the UK, Germany and Ireland.NOEL MINOGUE

Following a stint in Dublin, where he performed with the band Beal Bocht, Noel moved to London. He eventually landed in Berlin where he met fiddle player Bernd Lüdtke. Together they founded the band Midnight Court, with whom Noel has recorded a number of acclaimed albums. Noel and Midnight Court continue to play to full houses throughout Germany and further afield. Noel's distinctive style of playing draws influences from many great Irish accordion players – from Joe Burke to Paddy O Brien to Dermot Byrne. On occasion Noel has been known to pick up the mandolin, and might even be persuaded to break into song!NEIL MACDONALD
Inverness musician Neil Macdonald has been established in Berlin since the dawn of time... well almost!! Arriving on the Berlin music scene in the 1980s, Neil found himself quickly in demand as a versatile guitarist in genres from punk to gypsy jazz. He brings his broad range of influences to his accompaniment of Irish traditional music with an approach firmly rooted in his rural Scottish background. He has worked with many of the top traditional musicians in Scotland, and was a guest tutor at the Blazin in Beauly workshop week, run by the world renowned Blazin Fiddles. Neil's range of songs is equally diverse, ranging from blues favourites to contemplative traditional songs. All are delivered from the heart, with just the right amount of irreverence – as the occasion demands! Neil plays with a number of bands in Berlin such a Fir na Mara and iarthar, with whom he has recorded an EP.
