Online Seminar (live): How to find a job in Berlin?
Mittwoch 27.09.2023
- Anfangszeit: 14:00 Uhr
This live online seminar by JOB POINT Berlin offers help and actionable insights for all originally non-German speaking job seekers.
Hunting for jobs successfully in the ever-changing labor market of Berlin and Brandenburg
The bad news first. Unemployment increased in Berlin and Brandenburg for the first time in a while. The good news, however: Berlin is doing better than the national average. “While companies in the capital are once again demanding more workers, they need significantly fewer skilled workers in Brandenburg,” says Alexander Schirp of the Federation of Business Associations Berlin-Brandenburg (UVB). He notes: “particularly affected here are the skilled trades and industry, hospitality, logistics, health and social services, and construction."* Ramona Schröder, regional head of the Federal Employment Agency, therefore also appealed to companies in the region to “also shortlist those applicants who are not a 100 percent fit at first glance.” Employment agencies and job centers “support companies, the unemployed, and employees with various funding opportunities, for example with further training during the onboarding process.”*
Once again, considering the current state of the job market, applicants regardless of their background are requested to realign their job-hunt strategy and activities in order to eventually be successful. We at JOB POINT Berlin know from our daily consultations with newcomers from all over the world, how this can be achieved. Spoiler alert: Strategic planning and networking, and solid craftsmanship of all job hunting tools and techniques are needed.
