New Theater Berlin hosts this fine, Pay-What-You-Can acting workshop every Sunday. There are two classes; one for beginners to the craft and one for those a bit more seasoned in technique.

Recently students were invited to participate in an exhibition at the PRAXES Contemporary Arts Center, in Gerard Byrne's new piece. Pretty cool, huh?

No reservations required.

ALL CLASSES ARE TAUGHT IN ENGLISH ONLY

Please bring movement/exercise clothes and socks.

Techniques will vary from class to class, but will include some arrangement of the following;

Suzuki
Viewpoints
Chekhov (centers, psychological gesture, ball game)
Meisner (action problems)
Morris (sensitizing, self-questioning)
Articulation Exercises
Anchoring
Verse/Scansion
Levels
Secret Weapon Training (mysteeeeerious)

Here's some information on our illustrious teacher, Kellen;

Kellen York is a United States native, having graduated from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati with a BFA in Dramatic Performance. Though currently based in Berlin, he has performed nationally in the United States and abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has trained with SAFD Fight Master k. Jenny Jones and taken classes in Suzuki and Viewpoints with Anne Bogart's SITI Company and Theater Mitu. Kellen has also made appearances in film and on television including Run to Me, Run from Me as Jake (lead), a commercial for Belterra Casino and the short-lived local television series Pilot, in a recurring role. After spending 2012 as a resident actor for Know Theatre of Cincinnati, Kellen relocated to Berlin where he now teaches Alba Emoting, Suzuki, Viewpoints, Chekhov, and Shakespearean verse and scansion at The New Theater Berlin.

Kellen York ist ein US-amerikanischer Absolvent des Musikkonservatoriums der Universitaet in Cincinnati, er haelt einen Abschluss als Bachelor der feinen Kuenste im Fach Schauspiel. Kellen York ist national in den Vereinigten Staaten und international in Edinburgh, Schottland aufgetreten und lebt heute in Berlin. Er trainierte mit SAFD (Society of American Fight Directors) Kampfmeister k. Jenny Jones und nahm Unterricht in Suzuki und Viewpoints bei Anne Bogarts SITI Company und Theater Mitu. Kellen ist ausserdem in Film und Fernsehen zu sehen, z.B. in der Hauptrolle als Jake in Run to Me, Run from Me, verschiedenen Werbespots und in der lokalen Fernsehserie Pilot in einer wiederauftretenden Rolle. 2012 war Kellen festes Ensemblemitglied im Know Theatre in Cincinnati und lebt heute in Berlin, wo er Alba Emoting, Suzuki, Viewpoints, Tschekhov und Shakespearischen Vers und Metrik in The New Theater Berlin.

Hallöchen,wäre ja schön wenn man auch etwas auf Deutsch lesen könnte.Es gibt auch noch ältere die kein Englisch können.
