Irland/Armenien/Israel.14.08.2015\, 19 Uhr Ve rnissage.'Der Feind ist unsere eigene Frage als Gestalt.'Theodor Däubler.Der Sprechsaal ist in der glücklichen Lage sich folgende Fragen zu stellen: Warum brauchen Länder\, Nationen eine Identität und welche Feinde braucht es dazu? W ie entsteht ein Feind? Braucht es zuerst den Feind\, um sich selbst als La nd zu imaginieren? Braucht es das Andere\, als Wächter der Grenze um uns sel bst zu entwickeln? Oder ist die Identität ein Hintergrundrauschen oder eine schöne Melodie?Wenn der Feind unsere eigene Frage als Gestalt ist\, kann dann der Genozid an den Armeniern und die damit korrespondierende Frage der türkisc hen Schuld als identitätsbildend oder freiheitsstiftend verstanden werden? B raucht es die Leugnung der 'Nakba'\, der Massenvertreibung der Paläestinense r in den letzten 70 Jahre\, um einen strahlenden Zionismus in Israel zu er schaffen? Wie notwendig sind Korruption von Kirche und Regierung in der Re publik Irland\, um einen mächtigen Widerstand gegen den damaligen Unterdrücker Gr oßbritannien bzw. den Protestantismus zu schaffen? Wie viele Feinde braucht der eigene Frieden?Drei Künstlerpositionen werden sich im Sprechsaal-typischen Format von Ausstellung und Programm den oben genannten Fragen stellen. Sk ulptur\, Wandarbeiten und Videokunst sind die Medien. Mit Vorträgen\, Perfor mances\, Künstlergesprächen\, Filmen\, Hörspielen und der Liebe zu ungeklärten\, irrit ierenden Fragen werden wir ein Rahmenprogramm erstellen\, welches versucht nichts als selbstverständlich vorauszusetzen. Are enemies required to cr eate identities or for one to have a clear picture of oneself? Do we need to create borders in order to develop ourselves? Or are there certain chim erical narratives to which one simply has to attune in order to assume an identity?If enemies are means to our ends as social creatures\, how can th e Armenian genocide and the corresponding question of Turkish guilt and re sponsibility help us understand identity and freedom? Is denial of the Nak ba\, the forced displacement and denigration of Palestinians over the past 70 years\, necessary to strengthen Zionist philosophy in Israel? How nece ssary was sectarianism within the Church and political leadership of Irela nd in forging active resistance to the colonial ambitions of Great Britain ?How much exclusion is needed in each state to create peace?Three artists' positions on these questions will be exhibited as part of Sprechsaal's ty pical format ? exhibition with an eclectic programme of events.
