DESCRIPTION:Over the last few years\, independent art spaces in Neukölln have 
 gone from strength to strength\, thriving and representing the diversity o
 f the art scene in Berlin. These venues range from institutions like galle
 ries to spaces referred to as a ?Projektraum? or a ?Happening-Space?. They
  present work that is less well known\; most of them are not motivated by 
 commercialinterests. Because they are willing to take risks and support ex
 periments\, they are able to present the wide range of art forms being rea
 lised in a wide variety of kinds of spaces. While some are organised singl
 e-handedly by an individual with great passion for art\, others are the re
 sult of a collective effort. The work on view ranges from more traditional
  art forms to media art\, performance and the conceptual.Now 18 selected a
 rt spaces will join forces and open their doors to all and sundry as a coo
 rdinated event. These six Saturdays in May and June have been given the na
 me?Kunsträume Neukölln | Art Spaces Neukölln? and will offer a host of exhibitions
