  leben\, schafft eine neue Erdepoche\, das Menschenzeitalter\, Anthropozän. 
 Der moderne Mensch ist von der Tiefsee bis an den Rand der Atmosphäre präsent 
 und wirkt auf den Lauf der Evolution ein. Sein Tun wird auch in ferner Zuk
 unft sichtbar sein. Menschliche Aktivität hat seit dem Ende des Zweiten Welt
 krieges eine völlig neue Qualität. Dank des rasanten Wachstums prägt die Menschhe
 it nun die geologische Überlieferung unserer Zeit global\, statt nur ein Fa
 ktor unter vielen zu sein.Neue geologische Strukturen bilden weltweit unse
 re Städte aus Glas und Beton. Agrarlandschaften entstehen für unser Essen. Zum Kl
 imawandel tragen Autofahrten\, Flüge\, Gütertransporte bei. Plastik\, andere synthet
 ische Stoffe bis hin zu strahlenden Elementen sind in der Biosphäre allgegen
 wärtig und viele von ihnen über geologische Zeiträume langlebig. Staudämme\, die Sedi
 mente in den Oberläufen von Flüssen zurückhalten\, haben langfristige Folgen. Schiffe 
 und Flugzeuge transportieren Tausende gebietsfremde Arten von einem Kontin

 eing one factor among many.New worldwide geological structures are our cit
 ies made of glass and concrete. Agricultural landscapes arise for supplyin
 g us with food. To the climate change contribute road trips\, flights\, fr
 eight transport. Plastic\, other synthetic materials to radiating elements
  are ubiquitous in the biosphere and many of them durable over long geolog
 ical periods. Dams that retain sediments in the upper reaches of rivers ha
 ve long-term consequences. Ships and planes carry thousands of alien speci
