Für Bernhard Paul ist die serielle Produktionsw eise eine Bildsprache\, die er ständig erprobt und erweitert. Vergleichbare Prozesse fanden in der Musik ab 1910 statt. Ähnlich wie die serielle Malere i etablierte Werte der Ästhetik in Frage stellte\, brachten die Strömungen der sogenannten ?Neuen Musik? eine Neuorientierung der musikalischen Sprache hervor. Durch die schrittweise Aufgabe der Dur-Moll-Tonalität bis hin zur Zw ölftonmusik brach die Neue Musik mit dem harmonischen System. Dissonanz\, Meh rstimmigkeit und eine radikal neue Ästhetik waren die Folge. Bernhard Paul nimmt die ?Neue Musik? als Grundlage seiner Kunst und konzipiert aus diese m Einfluss Malvorgänge.
