 piel\, bei dem man ein Auge verliert? Die Ausstellung in der Galerie Pleik
 u besteht aus kleinen Ölgemälden. Der Name verweist auf den Spruch 'Es ist al
 les Spiel und Spaß\, bis jemand ein Auge verliert'. Der Hintergrund der Gem
 älde besteht aus Gefühlen und visuellen Reizen\, die mit bestimmten Momenten und 
 Erinnerungen in Verbindung stehen\, wie die Fotos\, die ich in dem Elternh
 aus meines Vaters gefunden habe oder die alten Rollenspielbücher und Tischhocke
 y-Spiele meiner Brüder. In dieser Ausstellung erscheinen mir besonders die Werk
 e\, die Elemente aus dem Surrealismus und Vanitas aus dem 17. Jahrhundert 
 beziehen\, als tragikomisches Spiel\, das meine persönliche Geschichte mit ei
 nbindet.In dem kleinen Format kann ich in meinem Neurotizismus schwelgen\,
  meine Augen sozusagen an einen spärlichen Ort verlieren\, mich von der Unge
 wissheit und Rastlosigkeit der Außenwelt schützen. Jedoch muss die Schale der In
 trospektion und Nostalgie früher oder später zerbrochen werden. Das Bild\, das en
 tsteht\, passt nie zu dem\, das ich vorher von mir oder dem Gemälde erstellt
  habe.In den Werken manifestiert sich dies als Unterbrechung\, Brüche\, Wunden 
 oder Abhandenkommen. Sie kreieren für mich und für andere Betrachter Öffnungen\, durc
 h die man zurück ins Spiel springen und die Dinge neu definieren kann.Jyri Ala-
 Ruona (geb. 1986) erhielt 2011 einen Bachelor-Abschluss von dem Lahti-Inst
 itut für Design und bildende Kunst und 2020 einen Master-Abschluss in bildender
  Kunst mit Schwerpunkt auf Gemälde von der Akademie der bildenden Künste. Seine W
 erke sind Teil von Sammlungen in dem Espoo Museum der modernen Kunst EMMA 
 und dem Krankenhausviertel von Helsinki und Uusimaa (HUS). Der Künstler lebt un
 d arbeitet in Helsinki.Die Ausstellung wird von dem Arts Promotion Centre 
 Finnland unterstützt.***Gallery Pleiku's exhibition consists of small-scale oil
  paintings. The name refers to the saying 'It´s all fun and games until som
 eone loses an eye'. The background of the paintings consists of feelings a
 nd visual stimuli connected to certain moments and memories\, such as the 
 photos I found in my father's childhood home or my brothers' old role-play
 ing notebooks and table hockey games. In the exhibition\, the works drawin
 g especially from surrealism and 17th-century vanitas paintings appear to 
 me as a tragicomic game in which my personal history is intertwined.In a s
 mall format\, I can wallow in my neuroticism\, enjoy losing my eyes to a s
 carce area and\, as it were\, protect myself from the uncertainty and rest
 lessness coming from the outside. But the shell of introspection and nosta
 lgia has to be broken eventually. The image that emerges never corresponds
  to the one that I had created in advance of myself or of the painting.In 
 the works\, this manifests as disruption\, fracture\, wound or disappearan
 ce. They create openings\, for me as well as for other viewers\, from whic
 h to jump back into the game and redefine things.Jyri Ala-Ruona (b. 1986) 
 earned a bachelor?s degree from the Lahti Institute of Design and Fine Art
 s in 2011 and a Master of Fine Arts degree specializing in painting from t
 he Academy of Fine Arts in 2020. His works are included in the collections
