Body-and-Soul-Folk from Galway, Ireland

T h e C u r l y O r g a n (AKA Donal McConnon) is a special kind of artist/composer/producer who has for one month successfully merged his everyday experiences with record production (4 EPs(2017)), who regularly has conversations with strangers through a non-verbal musical binary (Do You Speak Bell? (2018)) and has developed an all-encompassing live performance making use of hand-drawn visuals and guided meditations.

Operating from the windy-western town of Galway, Donal is perhaps better known there as a key component of the nationally-loved prog-folk outfit, My Fellow Sponges. While Sponges shows are known for their spontaneous energy and genre-fusing acrobatics, The Curly Organ takes you gently by the hand and guides you calmly through a museum of human experiences (both the extreme and the banal). This singer-songwriter is eager to do more than put on a show. He aims for catharsis, both for him and his audience.

The Curly Organ, das sind tranceartige, ansteckende Melodien und Texte, die eine Vorliebe und Neugier für alles menschliche Verhalten zeigen. The Curly Organ (AKA Donal McConnon) ist Künstler, Komponist, und Produzent in einem. Aus der windig-westlich-irischen Stadt Galway kommend, ist Donal als eine Schlüsselkomponente der dortigen Prog-Folk-Truppe My Fellow Sponges bekannt. Während die Shows von „Sponges“ für ihre spontane Energie und genreverbundene Akrobatik bekannt sind, nimmt The Curly Organ das Publikum sanft an die Hand, und führt es ruhig durch ein Museum menschlicher Erfahrungen, sowohl das Extreme als auch das Banale gibt es hier zu sehen, oder besser: zu hören. Der Singer-Songwriter ist bestrebt, mehr als nur eine Show zu machen. Er zielt auf Katharsis, sowohl für ihn als auch für sein Publikum.

THURSDAY SOUNDS: - Singer/Songwriter Konzerte im Tik, ab 21.00 Uhr

Jeden Donnerstag ein Konzert mit einem Singer/Songwriter oder einer kleinen Band.
Wer aufmerksam durch Berlin stolpert hat es mitbekommen, die Stadt ist ein Magnet für junge, verrückte, talentierte und interessante Musiker. Mit etwas Glück sieht man auf der Warschauer Brücke oder in einem Kneipenhinterzimmer an einem Abend mehr Talent als das ganze Jahr im Fernsehen.
Wir wollen diesen Musikern eine Bühne geben.

Every Thursday we have a concert with a Singer/Songwriter or a small band.
It's Berlin nowadays: The City has become a magnet to musicians from all over the world or from just around the corner. Creatvity and talent is on the street playing for small change, on the stages of open mics or maybe in the bar in your street.
The Tik has a stage for these musicians, every thursday.
