This month, our Banned Book Club dives into "The Catcher in the Rye" by J. D. Salinger, a novel that has been challenged and censored for decades. Through Holden Caulfield’s voice, the book explores alienation, growing up, mental health, and society’s expectations, raising questions that remain provocative and relevant today.

Together, we’ll discuss why the novel was so often banned and why it still resonates: What makes Holden unsettling, relatable, or even necessary? The conversation will also touch on freedom to read and the value of stories that resist easy answers.

This is the very first meeting of our Banned Book Club and everyone is welcome. The discussions will be held in English. There’s no fixed format just an open, moderated space to share thoughts, questions, and reactions, whether you loved the book, disliked it, or feel unsure about it. We’ll also shape the future of the club together, from meeting frequency to book selection.
