Dou Brown und Vorfeld

Nach verschiedenen gemeinsamen musikalischen Begegnungen in unterschiedlichen Formationen, sind Dave Brown und Michael Vorfeld erstmalig in einer Duokonstellation zu hören. Geografisch weit voneinander entfernt, gleichzeitig musikalisch nah beieinander, treffen sich zwei langjährige Akteure der experimentellen, improvisierten Musik aus Melbourne und Berlin. Den Zuhörer erwartet ein spannendes Konzert voll überraschender und magischer Klangwelten.

David Brown has been involved in the Melbourne avant-garde, art rock/punk rock scene since the mid-seventies. The focus of his solo project “candlesnuffer” has increasingly centred on the development of composing techniques which meld opposing streams like conventional electroacoustic methods with noise and rock and also the development of a vocabulary of tiny acoustic sounds enlarged outside their normal context. He has continued to develop a vocabulary that runs the gamut from rock bassist through experimental guitarist to sound artist and has recently completed a PhD project researching the use of electroacoustic compositions in a public hospital Emergency Department. www.candlesnuffer.org

Michael Vorfeld (Berlin), Musiker und bildender Künstler, spielt Perkussion und selbst entworfene Saiteninstrumente und realisiert elektro-akustische Klangarbeiten. Er ist aktiv in den Bereichen experimentelle Musik, improvisierte Musik und Klangkunst. Michael Vorfeld entwickelt ortsbezogene Installationen und Performances mit Licht und Klang, arbeitet mit Fotografie und Film. Er ist Mitglied verschiedener Formationen und kooperiert mit Künstlern aus unterschiedlichen Bereichen. Seine vielfältigen Aktivitäten umfassen umfangreiche Konzert-, Performance- und Ausstellungstätigkeiten in Europa, Amerika, Asien und Australien. www.vorfeld.org
