Opening of Anton Roland Laub's photography exhibition MOBILE CHURCHES, curated by Sonia Voss.
The exhibition is part of MakeCity Festival 2018 and runs through August 19th (Tue-Sun, 10am-5pm). During the exhibition, guided tours with the artist and the curator will take place (dates to be announced).
MOBILE CHURCHES is a critical inventory aiming at revealing a lesser-known yet fascinating urban and political story: the displacement on rails of seven Bucharestian churches under Ceaușescu’s dictatorship. Combining photographs with archival material, the series has a special resonance in Berlin's Chapel of Reconciliation, which was built on the foundations of the former Reconciliation Church, a historical building that was blown up by the communist SED regime in 1985.
An exhibition by the Parish of Reconciliation Berlin-Wedding and the Berlin Wall Foundation. In collaboration with Rumänisches Kulturinstitut Berlin
