"FLUID BODIES" - Gruppenausstellung zum Thema Körperkonstruktionen

artburst berlin e.V. lädt zur Ausstellung „Fluid Bodies" ins OKK - Organ Kritischer Kunst (Prinzenallee 29, 13359) ein. Vom 09. Mai bis zum 12. Mai 2019 setzen sich sechs Künstler*innen mit dem Konstrukt des Körpers, seiner Formenvielfalt und Bewegung auseinander.

Mit Back, Jonas Büßecker, Michaela Filzi, Eva Karduck, Nadia Markiewicz und Anna Luca Mogyorós.

Jedes Individuum nimmt seinen eigenen Körper mit allen Sinnen wahr - und ebenso die Körper von Anderen. Das menschliche Auge ist imstande alle Formen, Wellen, Falten, Erhebungen, Gruben und Ecken der Oberfläche des Körpers festzuhalten. Diese Formen bewegen sich oder werden bewegt. So entstehen Mimik und Gestik - die Körpersprache. Durch die Haut, die alle inneren Organe umhüllt und die Körperteile zusammenhält, kommt der Körper mit anderen Menschen, Objekten und mit seinem Umfeld in Berührung.
Der menschliche Körper ist aber nicht nur ein sinnlich erfahrbares Gebilde. Er wird immer wieder durch soziale und kulturelle Phänomene transformiert und an die jeweils aktuelle Realität angepasst. Durch das kategorisierende Denken des homo sapiens, des “vernünftigen Menschen”, wird der Körper zu einer reinen Konstruktion. Ist dieser Körper, den ich gerade sehe, “weiblich” oder “männlich”, alt oder jung, gesund oder krank, keins davon oder beides? Solche Eingrenzungen seiner Formenvielfalt normieren, unterdrücken und tyrannisieren ihn. Doch der Körper selbst kennt keine Grenzen, lässt sich nicht so einfach zuordnen, gelangt ohne Unterbrechung von einer Kategorie zur anderen, ist manchmal das “Eine”, manchmal das “Andere”, oft aber keins davon. Der Körper ist fließend.

Every individual perceives their own body with all their senses - as well as the bodies of others. The human eye is able to capture all forms, waves, folds, surveys, dimples and angles of the body's surface. These forms move or are being moved. This is how facial expressions and gestures - body language - emerge. Through the skin, which envelopes all internal organs and holds the body parts together, the body comes into contact with other people, objects and its surroundings.
However, the human body is not only a sensually perceptible entity. It is repeatedly transformed by social and cultural phenomena and adapted to current reality. Through the categorizing thinking of homo sapiens, the "rational human being", the body becomes a pure construction. Is the body I am currently seeing "female" or "male", old or young, healthy or sick, neither of them or both? Such limitations of its variety of forms standardize, suppress, and tyrannize it. But the body itself knows no boundaries, cannot be easily assigned, passes without interruption from one category to another, is sometimes the "one", sometimes the "other", but often none of them. The body is fluid.
