FLORA is a singer and composer from Amsterdam. In 2016 she completed her BA in Voice at the Jazz Department of the Conservatory of Amsterdam. After living in Berlin for a couple of years, where she performed, taught and started a multi-disciplinary arts collective, Maiden Speech, she is now based in Amsterdam
FLORA writes songs that tell stories. With her pure, crystalline vocal tone, stripped-back arrangements and subtle electronic textures, her pieces take on a distilled, melancholic atmosphere, inviting the listener to reflect.
She recorded and released her debut EP in August 2018 together with Berlin pianist Benjamin Geyer (piano & synth) and UK sound artist Jethro Cooke (mixing & mastering). It is available on Bandcamp as a download and limited edition CD.Flora Dekkers – music, lyrics & voice
