TALKS WITH THE SUN. Solarigraphy workshop in the Stadtbibliothek Friedrichshain
Solarigraphy (solargraphy) is a photographic method developed in 2000 in Szczecin, for which primitive camera obscuras and expired photographic paper are used. The experiment involves recording the Sun wandering across the sky during six-monthly exposures, from solstice to solstice. One builds the camera oneself, hides it in a chosen location and waits six months for the extraordinary image. The resulting photographs show not only the apparent movement of our daily star in the sky, but also weather phenomena and changes caused by human activity. Solarigraphy is currently one of the most popular alternative photographic methods in the world and is the starting point for educational activities and scientific projects.
Pawel Kula: I would like to invite you to a meeting during which we will build a ready-to-use solarigraphy camera and I will talk about several art projects connected with this method.
