Four musicians connected through Berlin’s Echtzeitmusik scene meet for an impromptu evening of free improvisation.

Bassist and TRYON founder Kellen Mills moves between experimental jazz, rock, and large-ensemble composition. Pianist Rieko Okuda draws on free jazz and electroacoustic experimentation, with collaborations ranging from Marshall Allen to Axel Dörner. Saxophonist Peter Van Huffel, known for Gorilla Mask and Callisto, brings jazz into contact with heavy music and electronics. Drummer Joe Hertenstein connects Berlin and New York’s improvising scenes, with projects including his trio with Michael Moore and Greg Cohen.

Shared history, different instincts, and no agreed destination. Any resemblance to a composition will be investigated.
