On September 20, people in Berlin can vote for the Berlin House of Representatives and the District Assemblies.
Up to 34 %* of the people in Berlin-Mitte are excluded from these elections, even though political decisions directly affect their lives.
The Symbolic Election is an action that allows people without voting rights to cast a symbolic vote. Our motto is: “I live here, I vote here!”
With this action, we show that everyone who lives in Berlin should have the right to vote and take part in decision-making. The results of the Symbolic Election will show what people in Berlin want from politics.
Our symbol-voting station at the Philipp Schaeffer Library will be open from August 31 to September 11, 2026, during our regular hours. Mon–Fri 10 a.m.–7:30 p.m., Sat 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
