Mishka Adams moved to Berlin two months ago after 8 happy and successful years of living and performing in London. She plays a mixture of music from all over Brasil - from laid back jazzy Bossa Nova and earthy old school Sambas from Rio to the dancing rhythms of Xote and Baiao from the north east - as well as her own soulful folky originals.
Most recently she did a Philippines Tour last February/March 2014, which culminated with the Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival, at which she headlined alongside Jose Gonzalez, Roy Ayers and Robert Glasper Experiment. During her time in London she worked with Candid Records for ten years, releasing four albums with them, and decided last year to branch out and do an independent project featuring her original compositions called Songs from the Deep. She was also a percussionist and vocalist for London's leading samba band, Rhythms of the City, and contiues to work with them on her visits to London. She is currently working on her next record, an album of original sambas and bossa novas.
