Ann Jangle - After 5 Years of Rocking the South African Music Scene, Ann has recently made her move to Berlin.Ann Jangle's unique style of eclectic rock rattles you to the core. Her ominous, dark style of folk, theatrical groove, soulful style of writing & performing leaves a long lasting impression and continue to move the hearts of everyone who come into contact with her.Belting out her voice and personality on stage like she was born there, this South-African born singer/ songwriter/ producer/ composer has performed her way onto a vast variety of festival stages and has made quite the impact on the South-African Music & Theater Scene.Since the start of Ann Jangle, she has received a substantial amount of airplay
and very good write ups all over South-Africa as well as in the UK (Berlin, London, Amsterdam & Sweden)
2012 gave way to the Debut album 'acoustic archive'. With a very acoustic sound, deeply rooted in the blues, having done all her own percussion, Ann felt called to a greater challenge.
The 2nd album "KICKING SAWDUST" will be launching in Cape Town, THU 5 MARCH at Mercury Live Cape Town, with a more powerful sound than ever before as drummer Matthew Raven drives the beats with his tribal style of rhythmic drumming, Lee Nicholls (No One's Arc) runs bass lines like it's being channeled from outer space and a orchestra backing her on saxophones, trumpet, cello, banjo, accordion, glockenspiel and many more.
With a Gypsy-SKA undertone, Ann's passion for experimenting has driven her to the ultimate entertaining recipe. Story telling with a powerful driving force.
"It's nice to see a band live up to the hype. Ann Jangle is quite frankly one of
the finest front women you will see, furiously strumming at her guitar and singing
in a wild, deep voice" – LMG Magazine Feb.2013
Since starting her career as a full-time musician in 2011, Ann Jangle has shared the stage with many other artists such as Albert Frost (Blues Broers), Schalk van Der Merwe (Bed on Bricks, Karen Zoid, Finley Quay) , Dave van der Linden (Bed on Bricks) , Guy Collins (Hot Water, Mean Black Mamba) , (Lonesome) Dave Ferguson , Nick Turner (Sons of Trout) , James van Minnen (Mean Black Mamba, Ottoman Slap) Lee Thomson (Hog Hoggidy Hog) and many more.
