Dasha Kanishcheva studied at the Academy of Art in Saint-Petersburg before moving to Berlin in 2012, where she is currently studying Art History at Humboldt University and working in several art projects. Mostly focused on photography, the Russian artist often utilises double exposure to explore the limits between reality and dreams.
‘From Today To Yesterday’ is a series of blurry-soft and dreamy-toned pictures, capturing the little ordinary things in Kanishcheva’s life. With the unique lo-fi quality of her analogical camera, each scene represents a mysterious and slightly melancholic story depicting the artist’s private sphere surrounded by friends, nature and strangers.
